Mila Kunis for Dior

January 5th, 2012

Since playing Jackie, the self-obsessed, bossy teenager in That 70s Show, Mila Kunis has morphed from a small screen actress to Hollywood A-list star.

Her career really took a turn when she starred alongside Jason Segel in Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008. It was in this movie that she really caught the attention of the public as a talented comedic actress, not to mention absolutely stunning!

Her performance in the 2010 hit blockbuster Black Swan cemented her place as one of Hollywoods hottest actresses scooping up an award for best young actress at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. She starred alongside Natalie Portman and the pair will certainly be remembered!

She will be reunited with Miss Portman once again as Natalie is currently signed to the Miss Dior Cherie perfume campaign & now Mila who was one of the most bankable magazine cover stars in 2011 portrays a smouldering, sexy goddess in the new Dior campaign photographed by the renound Mikael Jansson showcasing the latest versions of the Miss Dior handbag.

Mila is excited to work with the iconic fashion house. The 28-year-old star loves the ethos of the “grounded” label. Speaking about Dior,

“I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I always thought what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful.

Christian Dior boast a number of actresses and actors as ambassadors, previously featuring:  Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Mélanie Laurent, Sharon Stone and Jude Law.

Damaged Hair Miracles!

January 4th, 2012

Let’s face it, we all love to experiment with our hair. In the space of three years I myself went through red, brunette, black & white blonde hair….not the best thing for your hair health!

After being a blonde I really had to start looking for ways to get my hair back into a good condition. I’m sure most of you have heard of Keratin,  its the proteins our hair is made from & it gives our hair strength. Joico have developed a range called K-Pak which is a Keratin restoring line & it is renound in the hair industry for being one of the best product lines to reconstruct damaged hair.

“With the highest concentration of Quadramine Complex in its formulas, K-PAK delivers the ultimate in healthy hair. K-PAK products work synergistically to rebuild, reconstruct, strengthen and protect damaged hair!”

These shampoos & conditioners are PH balanced to give your hair the right level it needs to stay healthy & keep it from drying out while also providing it with that all important Keratin. The thing to remember about Keratin is that too much can have the opposite effect. Your hair will become ‘too strong’ and end up brittle. The K-Pak line is manufactured to give you just the right levels of Keratin & moisture.

The real kicker in this line is the K-Pak Deep Reconstructor. This treatment has beauty gurus in awe, it has the highest levels of Quadramine Complex out of all Joico products penetrating the hair shaft to repair it from the inside out. The texture is not what you would expect from a deep conditioner, it is slightly runny but this is what helps it to penetrate the individual hairs & to top it all off it smells deliciously fruity!

After using this line for a month I can gladly say I am a fan of Joico & I will definitely be trying out some of their other lines. I recommend shopping around for a cheap set on Amazon or Ebay but you can also find this product in high end hair salons.

What’s your miracle product?

Tom Ford SS12

January 3rd, 2012

Not only do we now get to catch a sneak peak at Tom Ford‘s Spring 2012 collection, which will probably hit stores mid January, but the images released were shot by the fashion genius himself.

Pencil skirts, peasant tops, raffia, lace, beading, fringe and leather seem to be the main focus of this ‘Mexico’ inspired collection.  He feels loose blouses with a slouchy feel teamed with pieces fitted at the waist are sexy-classic.  This topped off with a bondage style shoe, preferably wedges with chain detail are sure to be a huge trend.

Perhaps the most interesting area of his latest collection is how he will be presenting it.  Tom Ford does everything with a twist, his models will not strut down the catwalk like your average fashion show but will in fact be individually part of ten mini presentations by Tom himself, with each model standing beside him as he discusses in detail all of his intricate creations.

Tom maintains that the key to his brand success is ‘classic clothes’.  He hates when clothes do not have longevity and feels his pieces may be repeatedly worn from season to season.  Tom understands a woman’s form and he thinks hard about how women will feel in his creations.  For example, his collection involves a trouser suit, with a cobalt-violet jacket and form fitting trousers that act like spanx and mold to the body achieving a sexy silhouette.

We also have some exciting news from H&M creative advisor, Margereta Van Den Bosch who hints that a collaboration may be on the cards.  After the success of the collaboration with Versace, it seems that H&M is certainly one to watch for the high street in 2012!

What do you think of the new line?

3. Fashion.

4. Travel.

5. Lemon Meringue Pie.

Who inspires you?

Cecil Beacon, Rachel Mc Adams, Dolly Parton, Meryl Streep, Sarah Burton, Audrey
Hepburn, Grace Kelly…

What is the one thing you could not live without?

Paw Paw Cream

What is the best thing about college life at LA?

Allowing and fostering student’s individual makeup style. By supplying us with a wide variety of tutors, teaching styles and techniques, LA allows us to amalgamate all that we learn into our own skill set, based on what works best for us an individual. There is no enforced “house style,” everything is very subjective and I love that!

If you could work as a make-up artist for one celebrity who would it be and why?

Olivia Palermo. Her striking bone structure is covetable (as is that wardrobe of hers!) Her flawless finish makeup is always a perfect balance to her chic outfit choices.

What is your dream for the future?

I would love to work on Broadway or the West End. Working as a Creative Director would be the pinnacle of that dream.
