Work Experience for graduate professional make-up artists

jc_la_makeup_022Our make-up artists at LA Make-Up are always so excited to see new students coming through and getting work in the industry. And yes we know it’s a tough time to be starting out but we have faith in you!

Here are some tips for getting more experience; that’s the key to success really.

  • Make friends with a make up artist working in the cosmetics industry and ask her or him if you can shadow them
  • Find out if any budding film directors are making student films in your area and offer your services for free. Try these Irish film schools.
  • Find some models who are building their portfolio and help them out in return for some publicity.
  • Look for hair stylists or fashion stylists who might need a partner.
  • Use the LA Makeup Facebook page to make contacts and you can both help each other to build up some experience.
  • Come in and talk to us after class, or talk to your tutors; we are here to help you!
