Pretty In Pastels!

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

This season it’s all about delicate and soft pastel shades.  Blush pink, pale yellow, baby blue and softest lilac are some of Springs beautiful palette. Here is one of Prada’s looks inspiring this pretty pastel craze.

This sugar rush is very girly with these soft hues and delicate materials. Think gentle feathery materials, long flowing skirts and soft chiffon ensembles, us girls will be looking very pretty and sweet this Spring. Below is Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Versache rocking this trend.

Louis Vuitton has launched a new campaign based around all these gorgeous sugary colours. Their entire line this Spring is candy coloured, its absolutely gorgeous!

Not only are these stunning ice cream shades the latest fashion trend for your outfits but they’re the latest for your make-up also. We especially love how its a big trend for nail varnish! Chanel have brought out stunning pastel colours with soft peaches and baby blues this season.

So ladies get out there and celebrate the female form with this beautiful girly trend! Get sweet with a bit of spice this Spring as any style can pull off these sugary shades!

Karen Kosters Incredible Transformation!

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

Is that a man?? Why no it’s KAREN KOSTER!

The gorgeous TV3 host was transformed into a man for one of last weeks episodes on Xpose. Amber Sibley, our pro tutor and oscar nominated artist was responsible for creating this amazing new look for Karen. LA creative couldn’t be more proud of our tutor, Karen really looked fantastic! Here is the two of them in action…

It seemed Karen had great fun strutting her manly stuff around Dublin city. The inspiration for this transformation was to mark the release of the movie ‘Albert Nobbs’ out later this month. The Movie is set in Edwardian-era Dublin and stars Glenn Close who has to disguise herself as a man to keep her job as a male butler.

Its undeniable that this is one astonishing makeover so Amber was really up against it, however we feel she did an equally amazing job!

Karen says “it was the weirdest thing walking down Grafton Street as a man. I developed a bit of a swagger.” To create this ‘manover’ Amber described it as ‘unprettying’ the TV3 host. She had to even use a mustache as she felt Karen was simply just too gorgeous! Overall the two of them had a lot of fun and I’m sure it will be a day to remember!

Hottest Make-up Trends Spring/Summer 2012

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Dare to be bold!

This season the latest Make-up trends are so varied that you are bound to find something that suits just about everyone. Whether it’s the always gorgeous fresh-faced look, to the pop of neon colours. You can’t go wrong this season! Take a look at a few of our favourite looks straight from the runway.

First we have a very bold choice by Mary Katrantzou, she has inspired this neon pop of colour. With this dramatic look you’ll certainly stand out from the crowd!

From powerful lips..  to powerful eyes! Not only has Katrantzou inspired such an overstated look, but Fendi has created a beautiful gold leaf eye that is very on trend also. It’s not only bold and audacious, but it fits in with the metallic shades that are all the rage this season too. We love this look in particular as it’s so delicate yet so affective.

Mui Mui have also gone for this ‘eye-catching look with striking shades of red!

Whilst these looks are truely impressive, they may be too theatrical for some. Not to fear, as we said, there really is a look for everyone this season. The polar opposite fresh-faced look is just as equally gorgeous! Giambattista Valli has selected this much softer minimalistic trend.

All of these styles are just so stunning that the choices are so exciting! We suggest to go explore all these trends and just have fun, the options are limitless!

Oscars 2012

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Well it’s that time of year again & whether you have an interest in make-up, fashion, movies or even just celebrities in general there is something to keep everyone entertained at the 84th Academy Awards! Here at LA, it is of course the fashion & make-up that enthralls us the most & there was certainly plenty to write home about from last night’s ceremony.

We saw some recurring trends on the red carpet this year, from sequins to red and then white the red carpet was definitely worth the wait! Glittering in sequins was Best Supporting Actress winner The Help‘s Octavia Spencer along with Kelly Osbourne in a dazzling  & extremely flattering gown.

It takes a special someone to walk the red carpet in a matching dress & who better to pull it off than Emma Stone, this girl can look so natural in casual outfits & then step out in glamour the next day & rarely puts a foot wrong.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star & girly girl turned rock chick Rooney Mara held the fort with a surprising choice given her recent black dresses & wore a stunning white Givenchy Couture gown. Another of our favourite white numbers from the night was Milla Jovovich wearing Ellie Saab. The one-shoulder slinky gown hung perfectly from her to die for frame!

Silent movie The Artist cleaned up at the ceremony an enviable 5 Oscars including the coveted Best Picture, Best Actor, Costume Design, Directing & Music Score.

Were you glued to your screens all night?

Let us know your favourite dress!
