Airbrush Perfection at LA Make-Up Academy

Sunday, August 9th, 2009
We are very excited here at LA Make-Up Dublin to announce Kym Menzies Foster will be here next week to give us a master class on Airbrush Techniques and Tools. Anyone who loves the fabulous looks she’s created for Naomi Campbell or Aleesha Dixon will adore this class. Foster has also worked with celebs from the world of music and film, including P. Diddy, Lauren Hill and Rhianna so you know there’s plenty to learn.

You’ll have seen her style on shows like Top of the Pops, Live and Kicking as well as on MTV. If all of that doesn’t convince you, she’s also done FHM, Maxim and YOU magazines among others. This lady has a lot to teach us.

And because we know that everyone is keeping a close eye on the pennies, the 2-day course is only €65. She really is amazing.

Foster is working with Alesha Dixon in Paris this month so we’re very lucky she is popping over to us for this course. Spend two evenings with her on the 12th and 13th of August, from 6.60 – 9pm and change your approach to airbrushing forever.

What’s new? The Girls Aloud Lashes

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Girls, we all know the impact a stunning set of false lashes can have, and who better to bring home that message again than the style queens of Girls Aloud.

The girls have teamed up with Eylure the lashes experts to bring us a set of unique lashes. The folks at Eylure might have noticed that the pop princesses used 150 sets of lashes on a recent tour. It’s a match made in heaven.

Here at LA Make-Up, we were most excited about Cheryl’s offering. These are not subtle but give a full-on dramatic look which won’t do down the office unless your job description includes ‘Super-Glam’. Perfect for some weekend foxiness. Cheryl tells us: ‘I love the dark glossy look of my lashes. They are a must for a night out, cool and ultra glamorous.’

Band-mate Sarah Harding is keeping the stakes high with an even more edgy set of lashes. They look so fake but so delicious, it’s full throttle beauty at its best.

And if you’re looking for something a little more flirty and fluttery than full-on, then Nicola and Kimberley’s lashes are the ones for you. I have to admit that Kimberley’s are my favourite, very wearable but dramatic without that drag queen touch. They could be my favourite new accessory for a night out!

Nicola’s are described by the redhead as ‘really full but still demure’. Well, they are really full but I’m not so sure about the demure. It’s just my opinion but I’d say they’re slightly winged for every day wear.

Nadine’s lashes are very nice and very wearable but a little disappointing. You would expect a lot more va-va voom from this Derry lady. It could be all that time in the LA sun was a distraction.

Final Verdict – They’re all so different and special; there’s definitely a pair for all of us wanna-be pop-stars.

Thanks to the girls and Eylure for this offering to the beauty world!

I can’t wait to see what’s next? Cheryl endorsing a pink lipstick to bring us back onside with X-Factor?

Love the girls…

Love the lashes…

Keep up the glam work!!

Which pair will you be strutting your stuff in?
