1940′s inspiration for Autumn/Winter 2011/12

Yes, it is true that it is only July but the fashion houses have already began to showcase their collections for Autumn Winter 2011/12. It seems that designers such as Gucci, Miuccia Prada, Jean Paul Gaultier and Donna Karna have all been looking to the 1940’s for their inspiration.

This Autumn/Winter forties trend is focussing on the ultra feminine pencil skirt.

The hemlines on penicil skirts are to go to on the knee length. Donna Karen told the August 2011 issue of Vogue that “This collection is all about the empowerment of women.

Jea Paul Gaultier has made this pencil skirt a little daring by adding a sexy thigh high split up the skirt.

So take the advice of the major fashion houses and invest in your pencil skirt to be on trend fot this autumn/winter 2011.

The Berkeley London designer Prêt-à-Portea, is inspired by the themes and colours of the fashion world (the menu changes every six months to allow for changing seasons). The array of mouth watering wonders are inspired by Spring/Summer 2010 collections, including designs by Paul Smith, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jason Wu, Anya Hindmarch and Yves Saint Laurent!
