Professional Make-Up Palettes

_mg_0054Deep inside our make-up bags, every make up artist keeps some magic colours to save the day. When you’re working on a film-set or behind the scenes at a fashion show, you need to have the full range of colours and every shade under the sun. MAC have nearly twenty colours which you could call ‘brown’ for example – look here at the MAC eyeshadows and see if you can name them all! It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.

The easiest way to combine colours is to follow the experts’ advice and use palettes.

Did you ever hear the saying “No need to re-invent the wheel’? Well, that’s how we feel about palettes. Cinema Secrets is one of our favourite brands – you’ll love working with them, choose from foundation palettes and eyes on the Cinema Secrets website here or shop with us.   You can find colour collections for every occasion with Bobbi Brown here. Brides will love the Long Wear Eye Palette. And you’ll need some funky holders for all of that colour. Here at LA Make-Up we have everything you’ll need to start your make-up collection off; you can choose from two-colour cases, large artists’ palettes or palettes for eye shadow and blush together.

How do you store your powders and eye shadow?

Glowing Skin for New Year’s Eve

How to look glam and fresh when you’ve had a month of parties already?

  • Number One is your Granny’s favourite – drink lots and lots of water. Tea and coffee don’t really count so make sure keep water glasses on the go as well. Even when you’re out it’s a good idea to mix water with wine so to speak.
  • Then cleanse, cleanse, cleanse. No matter how tired you are over the Christmas days remember to take off that makeup.
  • Invest in some heavy-duty exfoliators and masks. You don’t have to spend a fortune; Boots has some great mud-masks for €1.38
  • On the afternoon of the 31st spend some time soaking your face and loading up with last-minute minerals. Look for products which shrink pores and tighten skin – temporarily anyhow!
  • No matter how tired you are; take the time to wash your hair well and use lots of conditioner to add some shine from the top down.
  • Only use concealer in the darkest spots! Apply a luminous foundation everywhere else to shine in all the right ways.
  • Use a highlighter on your cheekbones, the inner corner of your eye and a gentle line down your nose – not too much there or you’ll look like Rudolph.
  • Add some shimmer across your chest and along the shoulders but again use a light hand.

What will you be wearing on New Year’s Eve?
