LA Creative Academy have joined forces with NUI Maynooth to offer a ‘Train the Trainer ‘ Course.

Course Description:

This course has been devised to include all new developments in training approaches. The course is designed for New and Experienced Trainers wishing to  pursue a career as a trainer or to encourage those in training roles to update themslves in new developments in training methodogy and delivery systems.

This course has been developed to provide formal qualifications for those invloved in training and wishing to compete for FAS contracted training opportunities and is aimed to teach you the essential competencies necessary to meet the training challenges that they are faced with in today’s changing world.

The Course Material is delivered in four units and covers all the essential basic skills and knowledge required by today’s trainer.

Unit 1: Assessing Training and Development Needs

Unit 2: Designing a Training Programme

Unit 3: Delivering Training

Unit 4: Supporting the Learner

Assessment:

You will submit a portfolio of your coursework to NUI Maynooth for assessment. Essentially this portfolio will display your competence in identifying , planning, implementing and evaluating training. Participants are also required to make a brief training presentation in the company of an NUI Maynooth Assessor. You must submit a written assignment on some aspect of training and developement. Detailed assessment information will be given  on the first day of the course.

Eligibility:

There are no formal education requirements or selection procedures.

It is desirable to have some previous training experience and have the opportunity to carry out some training during the time you are completing the course. This gives you the chance to try out your new learning which forms the basis of your coursework.

Four months

One day per month

Level 7 Minor Award – National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
