LA Academy offers students the opportunity to partake in a work experience programme, whereby they get the opportunity to network with up and coming models, leading photographers and stylists. The courses offered at LA Academy cover a wide variety of topics that students can either specialise in or gain an understanding of. Yes, we do! One to one lessons can be booked Monday - Saturday where a professional make-up artist will take you through from you skin care regime right through to a beautiful daytime look. We will complete the lesson with a sultry night look all with a face chart to take home so you can remember your private lesson.

Module 3 is the ultimate for those wishing to seek a career as a full-time make-up artist. The course begins at foundation level and brings you through to high fashion/photographic, TV & Film. You will then progress onto ageing using special effects/prosthetics and fitting facial hair. On completion of the module 3, employment can be sought in photographic shoots, catwalks, TV and Film. Students will be taught by top international ,make-up artists in a creative hands-on environment. Throughout the course, students will work with a leading photographer, hair and fashion stylist on photographic shoots that will create their images for their essential portfolio. Upon course completion, students will have a complete portfolio of eight images. This course truly is the ultimate for those that want to set themselves apart from the competition in a competitive industry. Our courses are both full and part-time. Daytime courses run between the hours of 10am-4pm and evening classes take place from 6.30-9.00pm. The duration of courses range from one day workshops to one year degree programs!

LA Academy Dublin is located on the first floor at 4 Chatham Street. We are located directly opposite the Great Outdoor Shops which is approximately 20 yards from Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green end. LA Academy London is located in Covent Garden and LA Academy Los Angeles is located in Burbank.

Make-Up Courses: We supply all the makeup and props for the class. Each student will need a basic set of brushes and a camera to record their work. A full set of sable hair make-up brushes can be purchased from the academy. Please note that a disposable camera is more than acceptable. Beauty Therapy Courses: We supply all the materials and products for the class. Starter kits and tunics are included in this course.

There is no uniform, however we do recommend comfortable clothes and shoes e.g. jeans or black trousers. Please note that no trainers or tracksuits are allowed.

All courses are LA Make-Up Certified. We also offer courses that are accredited by internationally recognised awarding bodies such as; ITEC; BABTEC; CIBTAC and FETAC. LA Make-Up students are eligible for the M.A.C Cosmetics Pro Student Programme, allowing students up to 30% off MAC Pro products. All courses are taught by working professionals who are top of their field both in Ireland and abroad. Students undergo written and practical examinations throughout their chosen course as well as project work which will go towards their overall assessment.
