Sarah Jane Wai O’ Flynn has been working as a make-up artist for nearly ten years.
After studying make-up for film and theatre in IADT Dun Laoghaire, she worked on King Arthur as well as TV shows Chance to Dance and TG4’s Paisean Faisean.
Sarah worked in retail as national make-up artist for cult make-up brand, Pout Cosmetics, making many TV appearances. She also often travels to the UK for events and launches. She is now the spokesperson for top organic skincare and cosmetics line, Dr Haushka and has worked as spokesperson for leading high street brand, Rimmel.
Fashion is a big part of Sarah’s workload and she has collaborated on many editorials for publications such as The Sunday Times.
Sarah Jane has also carved herself a well-respected name in bridal make-up. She prides herself on creating beautiful looks for the bride and bridesmaids in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Five best things in life for Sarah Jane are:
1: Food. Good food makes me so happy! I love to cook and to eat out. When I travel I enjoy discovering local cuisine. I definitely live to eat!
2: Music. Music is embedded into every aspect of our lives. We all have songs that have become special to us and so they almost become part of a soundtrack to our lives. When I'm doing bridal make-up I can never resist to ask what the bride and grooms first song will be. It can vary so much it's always interesting.
3: The Countryside: I always believe it's important to take time to rest and gather your thoughts. I love the West of Ireland. Kerry and Sligo are two of my favourite places to relax, eat fresh seafood and enjoy good company!
4: Self Expression: I certainly think that self-expression is one of the best things in life. I think that in the Western world we take for granted what women and men in other cultures long for. When nurtured and celebrated self-expression can create works of art.
5: Travel: Experiencing as much of the world as possible is something I really wish to do in my life. The great part of travelling though is coming home to family and friends to tell then about your adventures.
