Siobhan Harper Ryan

Siobhan Harper Ryan is one of the UK's leading Character and Television Make-Up Artists, having worked on the latest Hollywood blockbuster, Sherlock Holmes.

Since graduating in 2000, Siobhán has enjoyed a varied and colourful career as a make-up designer.

She has had the good fortune to have been given the opportunity to help create some fantastic television characters.

For the Bafta award winning BBC children’s programme Let’s Write A Story Siobhán helped bring to life some of literature’s favourite characters including Imelda Staunton as Roald Dahl’s Mrs Twit and from Greek Mythology, Medusa and The Gorgon Sisters.

Other memorable make-up includes turning Rik Mayall into an Edwardian lady for the BBC comedy series Tales of Uplift & Moral Improvement, covering the face of Take That’s Mark Owen in freckles and giving him a ginger wig for Channel Four’s Bo’ Selecta, and changing Davina McCall’s gender for A Bear’s Christmas Tail. For the same show she turned Russell Brand into a Regency Werewolf!

Other credits include Guy Richie’s recent film Sherlock Holmes.

Before entering the world of make-up Siobhán worked for many years in costume, millinery and fashion.
